My digital and analog collage practice aims to illuminate the invisible links that connect us and explore what we can gain by facing the past together.
Centering the research I have gathered on my great aunt, I draw my materials from archives, family interviews, my own photography, and the personal photography collections of my parents and grandparents. I utilize the transformative nature of collage to blend imagery across time and borders, with particular interest in photography and snapshots of my family spanning the years of 1940 to the present.
My hope is that viewers of my artwork and participants in my workshops will leave feeling a connection to storytelling that goes beyond borders, identity, and history told as a single story. My work is committed to honoring the multitudes of lived experiences that make us human and connect us globally.
